Davinci Resolve

That’s right — the DaVinci Resolve for Mac has arrived! Copper Post is thrilled to be one of the first post facilities to invest in the cutting-edge system with the control surface. And, what’s even more exciting, is that we’re the first using the system (released in September) to color a feature film. Queens of Country, our fourth feature film project, stars Lizzy Caplan, Ron Livingston, Joe Lo Trulio, Matt Walsh and Maynard James Keenan was shot entirely in Arizona using the 2 Red One cameras with the MX sensors. The film was written/directed by Ryan Page and Christopher Pomerenke, and Copper Post is responsible for all aspects of the film’s post production, from dailies and offline editing, to color grading and visual effects.
Although we’ve been an Apple/Final Cut Pro shop since 2002, as our company has grown in recent years, we’ve been able to afford bigger and better tools to get the job done. We’re looking forward to grading with the Resolve because the hardware/software allows us to work at amazing speeds, comparatively. It’s pretty incredible and Nichole Kizer, the colorist working on the film can’t wait to start testing it out!
